The Repair Process
1. Inspection
Our trained technicians carefully inspect the chip or crack to determine if a repair is safe and effective. We consider:
- The size, depth, and type of damage
- The location (especially if it’s in the driver’s line of sight)
- The number of chips or cracks
2. Preparation and Cleaning
Before beginning the repair, we:
- Clean the damaged area remove any dirt, debris, or moisture.
- Dry the chip or crack completely to allow the resin to bond properly.
In some cases, a specialized drill may be used to create a clean entry point for the resin
3. Resin Injection
Using professional-grade equipment, we:
- Inject a clear resin into the damaged area.
- Apply pressure and vacuum cycles to ensure the resin penetrates into the crack.
The resin restores the structural integrity of the glass and prevents further spreading.
4. Curing
Once the resin is properly injected:
- We use a UV (ultraviolet) light to cure and harden the resin.
- This ensures the resin bonds tightly to the glass.
5. Polishing and Finishing
After curing:
- The repaired area is polished to restore the windshield’s smooth surface and clarity.
- Some slight cosmetic blemishes may remain depending on the original damage.
